Lebanon, NY, the 5th sibling of the large Calver family, was born in Norfolk, England, and arrived at the Church F., Mt. Lebanon, in 1850. She taught the summer term, for girls, and entered many detailed reports about her experiences in the Mt. Lebanon School Journal (1858-1887). She started to teach first as an assistant to Sr. Anna Dodgson 1864-1866, and in 1866 was joined by the new assistant, Sr. Emma Jane Neale. Sr. Amelia taught school 1867 through 1888, while becoming 2nd eldress, in 1887. Her "Every-day Biography. Containing a Collection of Brief Biographies Arranged for Every.Day in the Year, as a Book of Reference for the Teacher, Student, Chautauquan and Home Circles" was published in 1889. Among her other activities she kept eight swarms of bees at the Church F. in 1897. She was buried in Evergreen Cemetery at New Lebanon, NY. villageplus Mt. Lebanon. NY
