She remained there for her entire life, becoming the last in the Watervliet Ministry. She became 2nd eldress with Rosetta Hendrickson in December, 1881. Very popular with the Shakers, she also made a multitude of friends among the "World's people." The world's children who were taught in the North F. and recalled their Shaker schooling, envied the more relaxed life in the South F. under her guidance (1910s), since she was not as strict as Eldress Polly Lee. Eldress Anna, together with Eldresses Caroline Tate and Ella Winship, was instrumental in helping to preserve historical documents of Watervliet, NY, at the Western Reserve Historical Society, in Cleveland, OH. villageplus the South F. at Watervliet.
