He headed the West F. after it separated as an independent family. Under his management the West F. was financially involved in land leases and had diversified interests in lifestock and farming. Eventually, though, the West F. was combined with the Centre and East groups. William was the last of the Pleasant Hill brothers to die, in 1922. A broadside of July 12th, 1922, put up by E. H. Gaither, Executor of William Pennebaker, advertised an auction "of articles to be sold at Shaker Village, near Harrodsburg, KY," including a "number of other small articles manufactured and used by the Shakers: He was co-recipient, with his brother, of a patent (see above).
