| bio | Bailey, Hiram Herbert, of Sabbathday Lake, ME, was born 1888. He arrived at the Shakers in 1893, with his sisters
Laura and Elizabeth. All three were indentured to "Elder W." [William Dumont]. He commenced Shaker school in the
same year and attended it for several years. In 1902 he was given charge of the hens; in January, 1904, he was
helping Br. Delmer Wilson. In February of the same year he was in charge of the cows. In 1907, he left, for Auburn,
ME, for "indefinite time." He died in 1975, in Rhode Island.
