Lebanon, NY, was born in Savoy, Berkshire Co, MA, and admitted to the Shakers at the age of two. She lived with young believers at Savoy, MA, in 1819 (this short-lived Shaker community was established in 1817 and dissolved in 1825). Sr. Polly was the head business manager of the South F. for many years. She also assisted Elder Robert M. Wagan, e.g. in 1880, with indenturing children (Richmond, VoLl, 1977). Upon her death a "Memorial of Sister Polly C. Lewis" booklet was produced, in 1899, containing four poems, one by Cecelia Devere, "In Love's Bond," with the subtitle: "The King's Daughter. R
