Ohio and believe it was then kept by Frederick S. Wicker.
Gathered EALY IN 1788 UNDER IMMEDIATE MINISTRATIONS OF John Meacham and Lucy Wright
In 1790 with some assistance from Lebanon, built a large dwelling house at Wvlt.
In 1791 Meeting House at Wvlt was built
In March 1792 Timothy Hubbard sent from Lebanon to Wvlt to take charge of Church
Family as Elder Brother and Anna Mathewson as Elder Sister.
David Osborn who came to Wvlt in Feb. 1791 with Peter Dodge had been in charge
of temporal concerns until Oct. 1792 when Osborn returned to Lebanon.
Order of Deacons/i established and Peter Dodge ^appointed 1st Deacon
In 1794 Deacons bought 40 acres adjoining south part of Church Family from Ben j .
Youngs. Deed dated 10 Nov.
In 1796 Covenant of Wvlt Church Family, which had been only verbal, was written.
Joseph Meacham died at Lebanon, aged 55.

In 1797, June 3: David Cole, aged 27, and Amos Hammond Jr., aged 17, both drowned
in Church Family mill pond. Amos, in swimming with friends, went over his head
and David, a swimmer, went in to save him, but Amos pulled him under.
Henry Clough had succeeded Joseph Meacham, but he died in 1798 and was followed
by Abiathar BabbittT
14 Mar 1798 Benj. Osbori/died at Wvlt, aged 37.
1798 May, Dav^id Meacham, son of Joseph, Daniel ".Shays, son of James, and William
Barney,"three reprobate and dissolute young men who lived on Bennett place at
Wvlt, went to Albany and enlisted in company of recruits for/American navy.
1800, spring. New dwelling house for Young Believers on 10 acres of land SW of
Church FamiIy givan by Benj. Youngs Sr.
Roswell Goodrich and Esther Dodge went off together on Saturday night. On Sunday
they were married in Albany, on Monday he came to Office and lamented his folly.,
"but it was too late."
24 Nov 1800: The Young Believers living in Bennet place moved to new dwelling on
Young property. Now there are 16--8 brethren and 8 sisters, who signed covenant.
