1811., 16 Jul Nathan Slosson and Nathan Spier in court "to show cause of the
detention of John & Hugh McDole." Indentures produced but. court
not satisfied of validity because boys, as well as their father,
had not signed them so the case was to go toSupreme Court.
A mob of irishmen with clubs rose up to take the boys but violence
stopped by sheriff and others.

, 12 Aug Boys in court. Since they had not signed, court said they could
then decide wether they wanted to stay with Shakers or go to their
father and they chose Shakers.
Again the Irish rose in court to take the boys by violence but
court sent sheriff to guard them home.
