Commissioners of Highways came to examine it and, it being approved,
was by them authorized as a public highway."
23 Nov Between 5-6 a.m. Hezekiah^was found dead in bed. "Had appeared in
good health:the day before, did a good day's work, ate a hearty
supper, labored very zealously in meeting."

8 Jan Constable came about 11 a.m. to take brethren who had not paid
their fines to jail. So off went Freegift, Wm. Bates, Timothy
Clement, John & Grove McDole, Chauncey^Copley, Thos. Benedict, Jas.
Watkins, Levi^DurrIn, Joseph Buck, Hezekiah Hammond and Daniel
Bracketf. "They were furnished with a handsome room with a good
fireplace and plenty of wood, also with three feather beds and plenty
of blankets, by which means these 12 brethren accommodated themselves
for the night without difficulty."
9 Jan Henry Bennet and Abfjah Wood went to Albany with provisions and
firewood for the brethren. Several prominent men have offered to
pay their fines for them but the brethren would not consent. "They
had the liberty of the whole building (except the room where the
criminals are kept) and also of the backyard and had every attention
paid them. Soon after 5 p.m. the Colonel of the regiment, Stephen
Van Rensselaer, heard about their imprisonment and came to the jail.
He said it was a blunder of the constable and ordered them to be
discharged. If the Legislature did not approve his action, he would
pay the fines himself.
20 Jan Since the Memorial to the Legislature did no good, drew up one to
send to Congress and also sent to the US Attorney General and to
Martin Van Buren, now Senator from New York State.

15 May Going to live in Massachusetts to avoid the vexations of NYS militia

27 Oct Job Wicks and his wife Polly from Reading, Steuben County, came
to SF.
31 Oct After public meeting, at 1:15 p.m. the Ministry, Elders, brethren
& sisters of CF assembled in meeting room, sang a hymn, then marched
out and formed up 4 abreast, 2 brethren on right, 2 sisters on left
