2 Jan Learned that the Troy hill, below the lower ferry, slid and covered a number of buildings
and destroyed people and horses. Hear there are 5-6 dead bodies found and 16 horses.
5 Jan; In Troy, we hear that 8 are buried today, victims of the landslide.
11 Jan Beulah Downs died. Born Feb. 17,. 1774. Taken sick Jan. 1.
14 Jan Little girlcame here to live by name of Mary Ann Blake. She is now called Rhoda
and is 6 yearsold.
17 Jan Eideess Elizabeth, Shubel and Eliza go to i"carry off"Permilla Wicks to Vermont.
19 Jan Wary Jane Patrick who came here Jan. 12 with a four weeks old child has gone to
SF to live. / ^

3 Feb Rhoda Blake's mother came to see her.
5 Feb Samuel Knight's grandmother came and took him away.
Ruth Whipple came and bound her girls.
11 Feb Young woman came to WF about 16 years old from Port Bay. Said her name is Orpha
Sanford.
"This evening we wash our feet."
3 Mar "One of our oxen has been sick several days. They believe that he has been
bit by a mad dog. He appears to act very strange. The brethren have
killed him today."
11 March "Polly (herself) has put 30 bonnets together this week."
18 March Theodore Bates has bound his children and little Theodore has come here
to live.
27 March Elder Jeremiah (of New Lebanon) informed us that "upwards of 20 have moved
to Groveland."
1 April Two letters arrived from Freegift - one for Elder Brother and the other
for Polly.
8 April This week the sisters have washed and bleached 300 palm leaves and split
50; Polly has made 13 bonnets, wired 60 and plaited 50.
10 April Two boysj bound to Chauncey Copeley, came to live at GF - Lewis & Hiram
Spencer.
17 April "John Weed and his family have come bag and baggage."
18 April "John Weed has gone to Hancock to seek a privilege for his family."
21 April "Joshua and Jeremiah have been to the turnpike."
22 April Simon Mabee came from Hancock and took John Weed and his family home
with him.
24 April Some of the brethren have gone to the river farm to make a scow.
Eunice and Abigail Messenger have gone to cook for them.
25 April Frederick has been tdjthe turnpike to find out what Joshua and Jeremiah's
business was last Friday.

3 May Three Germans came. They could not talk English but Benjamin Youngs could
talk with them.
5 May The three Germans have gone to the South Family.
8 May Ann Bowser^has given up as eldress; Eliza Ash*"tiasgone to live with
Eldress Elizabeth.
William Yearsley leaves Office and will be family deacon with Francis(Goodrlc
