1 Jan I understand Phebe Hogle was brought to the SF and left last Saturday.
Moru "The world did not keep her."
The family was spoken to this evening to be in a labor to open their minds
4 Jan The family have begun to open their minds.
6 Jan The sisters have all opened their minds but the brethren have not got
through yet.
7 Jan "This evening thejgood ministry spoke to us about temporal matters,
guru.-- respecting the hard times, etc."
10 Jan "Tea and coffee have had a heavy/truth and there is a number set out to
take up the cross and not drink any."
12 Jan George Leonard^died having been sick about 9 days. He was 3 years old

13 Jan Zeviah Spier has been a physician a number of years. Now she is resigned
and Caroline has taken her place. Lucy Fairchild has taken Caroline's
place at the Office.
17 Jan Betsy Carter" died. "Elyett said she accompanied her to the. other world.
She went in vision the same time that Betsy died and was gone 1 hour.
While there she learned BEtsy's welcome song, which is as follows: 'You're
welcome here, dear sister dear, We surely love and bless you, You're
welcome to your happy home, you're welcome here forever.1 '
"This evening we had a lovely meeting. It lasted 1% hours. But Nancy
White continued under operations till 12:10. The sisters sat up with
her till she, got through but she did not go to bed till 3 a.m."
18 Jan Betsy Carter's funeral. "While in the graveyard Elyett and Ann Maria
both went into vision."
20 Jan "I understand there was a great many lights seen at the WF last Thursday."
25 Jan Rebecca Leonard'^has gone back to the world.
27 Jan "This week has been devoted to spiritual labors pretty much by the elders.
The family truly seems to be more waked up now than common. This evening
our meeting lasted 1% hours. Sarah Simons was taken under operations and
continued so till near 12 o'clock. She was under this exercise near two
hours."
Letters read in meeting from Canterbury, Harvard and Groveland. "There
seems to be various gifts and operations among Believers in every place
and also visions and trances. One sister at Canter/bury lay in a trance

7 Feb "I understand the visionary sisters have been to the 2d Order and had a
gift for Gideon (Cole) but he did not unite."
8 Feb The visionary sistersjstayed at the 2d Order all night and today they
took another pull upon Gideon^and this afternoon he made out to unite."
30 Mar "The reprobates are plotting against us and making us all the trouble

an end to her existance last Wed. by hanging herself. Awful'."
2 April Bathsheba Shays^died. ^
3 Apr They attended Bathsheba's funeral. There were 24 sisters at the funeral,
"we follded^the corpse to the grave but did not get out of the wagons."
5 Apr Jane Leonard's mother carnewith 3 men, determined to get Jane; but Jane
would not go with her mother so she had to leave her.
