25 June "Last evening, in attempting to cross the creek about sunset to carry our dirty clothes

2 July Wade Abigail's coffin with Thomas's help and got it done and the corpse put into it
before supper.
5 July Set up Elizab eth's grinding kettle for grinding indigo.
During July he and Thomas made boxes to pack strawberry plants in. Sides, tops &
bottoms were 3/16" thick, ends 1/4". Smallest was 10 1/2" long, 4 1/2" wide and 3"
high; largest was 1 " wider, length and height same. Are to cost 10$ each. Largest
to hold 25 plants. (Also set 160 panes of glassin two days.) By Aug 28, had made 400.
13-15 Aug Had 3 1/2" rain.
3-4 Sept Repairing seed boxes, mostly just the fastenings. Did 400.
7 Sept- Laid up with rheumatism In left leg from hip to toes. Then started to do moderate work

1-6 Dec He, Elder Daniel and Brother Giles^buzzed out stuff forseed boxes. On 5th "Elder
Daniel and myself halved the ends of 700 box sides in 3 hours & 7 min. and Bro. Giles
grooved them all in about an hour. We sawed the shoulders of the 700 pieces in1 hr.
& 7 min.
12 Dec "William Bussellcame here to live today."
Fjast day. Had a Society meeting at 10a.m. and it was not closed until 1:20.
"Thiss'ening we had another very wonderful meeting. James spoke more than an hour
under the special guidance of Christ and Mother Ann no doubt. This is the5th time that
he and his brother John has attended meeting with us, allof which was attended with a
ministration of light and wisdom beyond what was ever before witnessed by me. "

31 Jan Went to the cider house and brought over some boards to make Eunice's coffin as we do
not know how soon 'sherrhgy finish off, i>eing speechless and blind and also deaf as far as
we know.
7 Feb In afternoon began to make coffin for
8 Feb , Worked all day at coffin.
9 Feb Finished the coffin about 10 a.m. and put the corpse In.
13 Feb Instructed and helped Thomas about filing and settingsaws.
