17 July Molly Chapman died. About 93. She has lived at Second Family 8 years. "Her
son-in-law hired her board."
10 Oct Sisters begin tomove into the Stone Shop.
28 Oct Chauncey Miller went to live with the boys.
3 Dec Eldress Betsy Hastings died. 58 years old.

4 Jan Ministry arrived. Elder Ebenezer froze both his thumbs.
31 Jan Abo^t 8 pm a span of horsescame up to the Meeting House and stopped. They had
Sun run away from a man in Rotterdam,, about 14 miles away, some time in the night.
Two men came afjter them and stayed all night, but one horse was so stiff and lame
they had to rive h im
3 Feb Mary Allen at SF died.
9 Feb Elder Bro & Frederick went to Albany to take a remonstrance against the repeal of a
billconcerning certain trusts.
19 Feb V\fe signed a petition for
a bridge across the river at Albany.
20 Feb (Sat) C. Miller went to Albany and bcought out the Governor's father-in-iaw who wanted
to stay over night and attend meeting on the Sabbath.
21 Feb Some of the legislatorscame to our meeting; took dinner, then warite'd to attend our
Sun. afternoon meeting. So they sent forthe 2d Order and had meeting. Then legislators
came into dwelling house and visited.
22 Feb Took the Governor's father-in-law back to Albany.

8 Oct Tour Frethreri wenFTo West Troy after their certificatesto clear them from paying
their fines.
27 Nov Brethren returned from the River Farm, having finished making fence each side of
the raihroad.
4 Dec A notice was put on the great gate that the gates would be closed to the public on
24 December and not opened until 2 March 1842.
7 Dec Fred & Benj. Youngs went to Albany to see the General about the fines. The court
fine us $3 a head; the General put it down to 1 a head but he said it was as low as
the law would allow him to put it.
9 Dec Thanksgiving. We assemble at9 am, read some messages, dinner at 1 1, supper at 4.
"Sounded the shell at every meal. " *
25 Dec "We read the holy laws, begin meeting at 8:30, sing a long anthem with some speaking,
then begin to read. Finished reading at 10:20, dinner at 11, union at 12, commenced
reading at 1:30, finished reading at 3:20, then we remembered the poor, supper at 5."
