22 Feb Francis Goodrich released as deacon and Daniel ShermarTtakes his place. Zeviah

25 Feb (Fri) "This evening we assembled in themeeting room to read a message. When we were
about 1/2 thru we were alarmed by the sound of a drum and bugle horns. We arose
from our seats and went to the door. There was a company of men marching through
the dooryard. They began from the north by the 2d Qrder, from there they came *
through the CF dooryard and jumped over the fence west of the notice and went down
to the end of the lane, halted and struck up another tune and drummed a while. Then
went on east and so on until they were north ofus (by the sound)."
26 Feb Susan Green died.
28 Feb The notice taken down and placed in the Meeting House until after the departure of
our Heavenly Parents (the NL Ministry).
1 Mar "Tjiebusiness ofthis day was to perform the sprinkling of our dwellings with the holy
waters taken from the Fountain placed in the dooryard by the Holy Angels.
At 3:30 we assembled the whole church together at the Meeting House and there
remained until 12 at night to witness the departure of our Heavenly Parents. The 2d
Order left the Meeting House at 9 pm.
2 Mar (Wed) The gate was ojejdned, the world's people flock In.
5 Mar Jesse Harwood leaves the elders lot and goes into the joiners shop and David Austin
Buckingham moves into his place and lives with Elder Brother, C. Miller'takes
"the burden of the botanical branch of business in DAB's place and FS Wicker takes
charge of the boys. "

9 Mar Elders and deacons meet to consider the condition of the saw mill--whether to build
a new one or repair the old. Decide to repair the o l d .
Henry Morgan, 13 years old, comes from SF to live at CF.
21 Mar Jesse & Lorin (Wickes) went to Schenectady "to obtain some knowledge in the mill
wright business, examining Pearson's water wheel etc."
23 Mar Brethren draw some logs toour saw mill and 2d Order draw some to their mill on the
River Farm.
26 Apr Brethren are pumping out the stone quarry, pretty much by horse power.
C. Copeley prepares the Big Island for broom corn.
28 Apr A small butternut tree(3 years growth) "was planted in the eastlot precisely on the
spot of land marked out by the Holy Angel of Light (now called the Holy Angel of
Discernment) as being the central point of Wisdom's Valley,, and one point is nearly
due east from the center of our dwell inghouse. This tree was raised from the seed
planted in the nurseryin the year 1839... A number of the brethren were present, viz.
D. Miller, DAB, BS Youngs, FS Wicker, CW Brackett, W. Allen, L. Wicks and a number
of the boys down to 5 years. After the tree was set, a short hymn was sung, "The Healing
Balm." We also marched around the central point. Father Joseph's march was sung
and played on our spiritual instruments. ..."
Started getting stone out of the quarry.
1 May Meet in the sanctuary, firsttime since March 1st. Received further information about
the boundaries of Wisdom's Valley--perfectly square, 4 sides equal lengths, allangles
right angles.
