28 May John and Harriet Ingham bind their children to O. Stanton Buckingham.
30 May C. Copley took Clarissa Vedder, Clarissa Finch and her daughter Maria to Albany and
before a justiceof the peace, Maria was bound to Clarissa Vedder.
1 June Both ordergof theCF and the WF assemble at Father Joseph's Fountain. The Lebanon
Ministry "united with us and graced us with their presence. We had a blessed meeting;
having received the blessings of heaven most bountifully. The younger were also blest
by the elder, the firstbornchildren of blessed Mother Ann. Thus our meeting was '
'blessing and being blest. 1 Our worship continued 3 1/2 hours, from 9 am to 12:30.
3 June Stanton took out 3 of the aged brethren, viz. John Scott, Joseph Preston and Abiathar
Babbit, "forreleasement " They had a satisfactory ride.
6 June "1 worked in the garden at the mulberry trees, hoeing e t c . "
18 June C. Copley started this morning for Buffalo. "Angelina Annas and Nancy Wells went
with him as far as Rochester, or on to Cazenovia, for a ride of health and some little
business Angelina had with her mother and relations. " Returned on 27th.
28 June "In the afternoon the young Patroon, Stephen Van Rensselaer Jr., and his daughters
with some others came out here and rambled about from place to place."
10 July DAB had put the books in the school library in order and purchased some new ones in
Albany. Today he makes out a catalog of what they have and finds there are 116
books In the school library.
24 July Putting a T on the Dwelling House. Have begun getting stone out of the quarry and now
are working on beams. ,
29 July "We understand that John Ingham is inspired by the Evil One to oppose the work of
God and make shipwreck of his favor. He absconded this morning from the SF. "
13 Aug Willoughby Green started west to attend to some business near LittleFalls. He expects
to meet David Miller and C. Copley (who are on their western journey) and have their
help "In settling or inquiring Into the conditionof Dr. Willoughby's estate which has
been help In much controversy among the heirs."
15 Aug Lucy Presratt died. Had been confined to nurse'sroom for some time "but stillkept
that life and spiritthat, notwithstanding allher suffering, which was very great, she
would arise from her bed and walk about the room, converse freely with anyone when
they came to see her, teckt tillnear her end. She closed her eyes inpeace, leaving a
kKkkndc bright and shining example of godliness and virtue forother souls to imitate."
27 Aug Hired masons arrive to make the cellar under the whole new addition. John Edict is
the master workman.
2 Sept Abraham Hendrickson going to NYC to see an eye doctor.
6 Sept Oren and Patty Bates came and bound their children Martha and Orin Jr. to C. Copley.
10 Sept Masons finish their work on the foundation -- 118 yds 10 ft.
11 Sept John and George Clark, two boys, have absconded from WF.
12 Sept Railroad cars by river farm ran over and kil led 17 of theirlambs. There were 70 lambs
in a field and a board had come off the fence and they were killed during the night.
16 Sept Luther Parks finished cradling the buckwheat west of the barns in the old orchard.
18 Sept Brethren have put the s i l l s of
the T on the cellar wall and laid the lower bent of the
hall connecting the T with the present dwelling house.
22 Sept "This day is kept according to the commandment of the Lord in the purification of Zion.
The family arose at 4, attended meeting at 4:30. After breakfast the family attend
to their several duties according to the commandment of the Scroll and the best
wisdom of the Lord. "
