26 Sept Today we raised the 3d and 4th bents and finished just by 6 p.m.
27 Sept Today we raised the 5th bent. No accidents so far. Number working on this is 9.
29 Sept Raised the 6th or north end of the frame.
1 Oct "Clarissa Vedaer has been quite unwell for a number of days past with a strange kind
of sore on her forehead. It is supposed tobe the bite of a spider which became very
painful and her face much swol len. "
2 Oct "We begin putting on the rafters and hangers.
The farmers have been at work in the swamp, fixing their drains, etc.
The gardeners have been industriously engaged in getting out cucumber seed--a
wonderful crop.
Daniel Sherman and some of thesisters arebusy gathering fallapples.
Lorin has been and still is to workat the window frames,
The Trustees and some others are very busy harvesting and scraping broom corn. "
6 Oct David Miller and FS Wicker went to A! bany about the Ogden case to see when it
would come to trial.
15 Oct To Albany again to find out why the trialis put off.
30 Oct "The sisters are very helpful and obliging. They are busy tgathering husks for mattresses

31 Oct Hired masons have finished building chimneys in the new part of dwelling house.
Tinners have put new roof on dwelling and the hall connecting old and new parts.
3 Nov "Luther Parks began to work making brooms--a new business to him. Sylvester
instructs him some about it."
13 Nov "Elder Brother and Daniei went to the swamp to try the experiment of gathering some
moss to fillin between the lath and clapboarding of the new house. They got a load
with I Ittle trouble. "
18 (T5lov FSWicker went to Hudson to attend suit concerning two Trover children. Their parents,
afterhaving placed and bound them among the Believers at Lebanon, are trying to get
them away.
19 Nov C. Copley, Stanton and DAB went to Croat's "to survey a piece of land around the
house which Simon Groot has agreed to take, and let us have as much woodland joining
the Rogers farm. It was a smal I piece, only 2 roods and 13 rods. "
20 Nov /fiWicker returned from Hudson. The court decided in favor of the Believers and Jonathan
went home to Lebanon "with the two children and a light heart, or comparatively so,
having through the mercy and goodness of God effected his decision in keeping the
children, as their attachment to the Believers seemd to be considerably great. "
26 Nov Elder Brother and 13 .brethren went to Wilson's to gather more moss to put in building.

4 Dec The Governor recommended the keeping of this day as a day of thanksgiving and "the
Believers, as usual, regard itby attending worship in theirdwellings the forepart of
the day, and cleaning up their shops and dirty places in the afternoon."
8 Dec One of the Baker children at NF scalded her foot and ankle very badly a few days ago
and is now in a very dangerous situation.
20 Dec "Sarah Jane Golden,having abused her privilege in the way of God or among Believers,
the Devil got so fullpossession ofher soul that she absconded yesterday,, both soul and
body, and ran as far as Godda's old place. Not wishing to have her depart In such a
shameful way, one of the brethren went after her and brought her back to the Office
where she stayed over night. Today C. Copley, Sister Morfah and one of the other
