24 Sept (Sun) "We have been so annoyed with Sabbath breakers
shooting and stealing about our premises on the Lord's
day that we have sought the aid of the Albany police,
intending if possible to put a stop to it. The police
took up 7 of these fellows who were intruding some way
or other and were examined by said officers. After-
wards notices were put up about the woods, at the pond
and mill, cautioning the public against shooting,
stealing fruit, fishing etc. This caused quite a change
for some time."
