11 July Severe storm hit just as they were getting out of public
meting. Down came the "turkey buzzard" or smoke cap of
t&he chimney of the dwelling house with some of the
b^ricks; down came the mourfiain ash tree standing a few
feet south of the office (10" dia. trunk). Then hail,
smashing windows because of the strong wind. Hit
hardest at SF where 900-1000 window panes broken.
