23 Feb Stephen^Wells of WF died. "Brother Stephen was one
of the good and worthy sai^nts of Zion and has lived
out a good old age of usefulness . He was beloved by
all who knew h im. "
5 Mar James^Watkins died. "Thus departs another of the
faithful aged ones. He has proved a valiant soldier
in the Christian warfare. "
7 Mar James Gibson, a youth of 17 or 18, decides to go to
his mother and relatives. "He is a hard character."
9 Mar Abraham/Hendri./.ckson died. "He has been con^fined for
quite a length of time with a very bad sore on the
back of his neck , bordering upon a cancer . He has
been subject for many years to the salt rheum (eczema)
extending through his whole system. "
17 Mar The order of youth girls is broken up and some go into
the dwelling house and some into the order of small
girls. Sarah Dean, the caretaker of small children,
is replaced by Samantha Bowie and Ellen Bussell.
12 May Henry Scranton , a youth , leaves .
13 May Elizabeth McCoy and Emma DeWitt leave.
17 May Eld. David^Hawkins moved from NF to CF, replaced by
Chauncey/Copley ; DABuckingham takes CC 's place and
Chas . /Brackett lives with him. Jesse/Harwood moved
from NF into CF Office; Sylvester^Prentiss leaves CF
Office and becomes NF deacon in Jesse 's place .
9 June John^Decker moved to WF to live in Office with
Alexander Youngs.
12 July Sarah Van Vike (Dyke) and Sally Neal come from Mt.
Lebanon Hill Family to live at NF.
17 Dec "The Ministry introduced in our meeting this evening
the manner of the family eating for dinners in the
same manner as other meals, both brethren and sisters
kneel and be seated. Also a gift to deliver up all
dauguerrotypes etc. and commit them to the flames."
25 Dec Covenant or Constitution read in morning meeting, and

Ayers as Elder Sister with Eldress Lovina Saulsbury.
Mary^nn is/ now a deacon.
7 Mar Willoughby Green and his little son visit at the Office
9 Mar Elizal/Wells released as Eldress and goes to CF as a
family deaconess; replaced by Sarah Van Dyke.
11 Apr General Lee surrendered .
12 Apr CF trustees have bought about 30 acres adjoining their
south farm at $90/acre,
