6 Apr Stantoir released from farm and stock and will take
c^harge of the canning business; DanielVsherman will
take over the management of the farm.
10 Apr John Palmer, Chas. Rockwell and Chas. McDonald leave
the children's order and move into the dwelling house.
15 Apr Edward Hallam has decided to leave.
5 June "The greatest quantity of turnip seed we have ever
known to be grown on the place in one year is har-
vested here this season. The orchard west of the barn
nearly up to the 2d Family line is one continuous
field of turnip seed."
17 June MoriahvTreadway drowned herself in the pond. Coroner's
verdict - drowned "in a fit of insanity."
3 Aug A young sister at Mt. Lebanon, Ellen Calver, drowned
herself lately and now her body has been dug up through
the influence of their "jealous, su/lspicious and envious
neighbors" and a post mortert\examination of the body
has taken place.
1 Oct Philip Smith has left herb business and gone into the
garden shop to help:, Chas. Brackett takes full charge
of herbs; Stanton takes on care of p^oultry.
17 Oct Zeviah^Spier died. Last of "first born."

Their lobbyist is working in Washington to get them

26 Feb Franklin and Amelia Pervon Hall indentured by their

14 Mar Betsy Dwells died. "She was very nearly 94 yrs old, an
amiable, virtuous sister, much beloved and respected
by all who knew her."
19 Mar Benjamin'/Hughes of SF died.
25 Mar Charlotte^Youngs died. Had fallen downstairs a little
previously and injured herself internally.
23 Apr Matthew Radiker was gored by a bull this morning and
would have been killed but for the help of one of the
brethren and being able to crawl under a loose parti-
tion. Matthew was more frightened than hurt.
18 July Nathaniel^Fry to live with Elder^Sylvester at NF.
Sarah Van Dyke replaced by Aurilla^hite as Eldress
and Electa^Thomas is Elder Sister. Sarah went to-
Office.
