New Lebanon "In obtaining Mary Lyall, who was kidnapped not long since from said place
by her father David Lyall. By a writ of habeus corpus served on the latter, be was bound
to produce or appear with his daughter, Mary, before Judge Johnson, and she was allowed
to make her choice, to stay with her father or go back to New Lebanon from whence she
was taken*, She chose the latter."

8 July Azuba Train died this a c m . apparently very easily without a groan or struggle 0She has
not eat anything of consequence for more than 3 weeks past. She has slipped out of time
in a very quiet manner, having had no night watches during her illness. She seemed, and
often expressed her thankfulness, for the kindness shown her.
