1 Aug Because of her ill health, Elizabeth Ask is permitted to visit Saratoga Springs.
Is takeriby C. Miller along with Matilda Wells and Abby Messenger who will
care for her. Eldjfer Grove Wright was there at Saratoga and will take care
of them.
7 Aug Oscar Merchant had one of his fits while working in the tailor shop by an
open window. Fell thru window from 2d story (12-13 ft.) and landed face
downward. "Taken up senseless and carried to nurse's dept. No bones broken
and not much bruised."
Dead man found near Michael Camp's line. Coroner concluded he had died
from d.t.'s, battle of brandy beside him, uncorked but not quite empty.
Dead several weeks, so much decayed could not be moved, so buried where he lay.
24 Nov Received 80 bags of wheat and same of broom corn from Illinois farm and
an equal amount of both to come.
