12 Aug. Nehemiah White, Philip Smith and Mathew Raddlker went to Troy to get an exemptfion
from draft. "Allthat have applied to the property authority have been excused in

9 Mar Sarah Van Dyke is made 1st eldress at 2d Order.

April News of surrender of Gen. Lee and then of assassinationbf Lincoln and
attempt on life of Wm. Seward.

6 May Almira Treadway has to be confined again. "She has another crazy turn."

16 May "Sarah Ann Wood, youngerly sister, died this afternoon. She has been seve-
ral years failing under the-consumption which caused her death."
12 June Phebe Taylor at 2d Family died of consumption.
24 June Green worm has eaten.. -nearly all the currant bushes bare.^ "We have destroyed

30 June DAB went to 2d Order "to assist some about cutting the new style coats."
24 July Daniel Sherman finished haying at River Farm. 112 loads "nearly all done by
