13 Oct About 50 of world's people attended our public worship today. General
Sun. Sheridan was one. After meeting he stopped at the Office some 30-40 min.
A number of the brethren went out to see him. He was very free and pleasant
and sociable and went away much pleased."
23 Oct Louisa Fairchild died at 2d Osrder. Marinus Fairchild, her youngest son,
having been written to concerning her feeble state oflhealth, arrived at the
NF some time after her decease.
24 Oct Her funeral with Marinus present. "There was considerable._-speaking in the
course of the meeting, and the good faith & principles, &''good-_:and godly
exampleiof the deceased, was freely spoken of."
5 Nov Chas. Brackett went to Troy Insan^e Asylum "to acquire a little information
about taking care of insan^e persons."
17 Dec Chas. B went to 2d Family last night to watch with Justice Harwood who died
1:30 a.m. today. "Another of the good saints has gone to receive the reward
of his labors among the faithful in the land of rest."

Feb Sarah Neal of NF went to Mt Lebanon forjher health, "thought to be in a
consumptive way."

24 Apr Asenath Pennington, a young sister near 20 years, died 3 p.m. "Her disease
was the quick consumption. She has been failing for some 12 weeks. Last
Sabbath, with help, she walked over from the nurse's dept. to the dwelling
house, visited the elder sisters etc. for some 2-3 hours; on Tuesday, she
went to the garden shop, and on Friday left the shores of time."
23 Apr Old dwelling & infirmary at Hancock burned down. Caught from burning
asparagus bed.
23 May One of our neighbors, J. Harman STrong, hung himself.
14 June Albert Lomas spoke at public meeting - "his first attempt - did well -
spoke about 40 minutes."
13 July Nicholas Glute, one of our Niskayuna neighbors, "died almost instantly with
a stroke of the sun, it is said,
3 Sept G. Albert Lomas moves from NF to SF to live with Elder Issachar in elder's
order, "because of release of Elder Richard Dean who is very sick & feeble.

/ll Sept. 5 3/4 inches rain. Pond overflowed; lane and around Office flooded; 2 feet
/ water in Office cellar/ 6 bridges over creek from mill thru village upset or washed away;
/ South Family sawmill dam breached and pond drained.

Alex Youngs at 2d Family was injured when his horse ran away and he was thrown into a ditch.
