26 (Mon) Leave Rome 8:30 a.m. Arrive Amsterdam 1:30 p.m.

27 Waiting for C. Copley and C. Prentiss. Visit factory of scythes and
another of lasts and pegs - "a great curiosity to me."

1 Mar (Th) Decided to wait no longer. Went by railroad and arrived home at
3:30 p.m.

2 C. Copley and C. Prentiss arrive home today with bad colds. Bring home
two new horses, making three procured on trip.

3 "Very good meeting this evening in which C. Prentiss and myself are
made welcome home."

5 Jeremiah and I sort seeds returned and pack out a load for northern
journey.

6 C. Copley starts on northern journey. C. Miller starts for Little
Falls. J. Harwood goes to Schenectady.

7 We gardeners continue to sort our seeds.
"The select caucus meets again this a.m. for the 3d time without any
better prospect of success than, before."

8 Caucus again this morning by special call.
10 C. Copley back from northern journey. Elder Brother to New Lebanon.

14 "I attend the 6th and last caucus meeting this a.m. Ransom Parks
withdraws fromjfhe Society today by the united voice and counsel of the
Ministry, elders, trustees, family deacons and six other chosen brethren
selected for the purpose."

16 (Fri) "I am quite unwell and do but little except cut a few grafts to'send
to Grove I and."

19 First steamboat arrives in Albany, cutting its way through the ice.
20 Brethren saw 34 loads of wood today.

21 "I am very unwell, vomiting violently and suffering much pain."
"Family retires to rest without a meeting."
22 Brethren saw 46 loads - average bulk about 3/4 cord. "We again retire
to bed without a meeting!!!"

27 Charlesjshute and Emerson Sprague withdraw from the Society today.

1 April (Sun) Noah Bigelow and Albert Durham left North Family.

4 Set out all of our seedoonions and I plow about \f turnip ground.

5 Finish plowing and set out turnips.

7 (Sat) Sisters rake and clean dooryard.
