cided to leave and join friends in Massachusetts.
18 Apr AsavSeaton died. "He was one of the aged and has been
confined to his room for 'the last 8 or 9 months. He
exercised much patience during his sickness, having
uncommon fortitude, determination and resolution,
being very anxious to live that he might still do
more good."
20 Apr Ellen Bussell has decided to go to her father and her
brother Henry has come after her. Thus departs the
last of t^he Bussell family.
21 Apr Joseph /Pelham died. "His sufferings have been in-
tensely great for some time npast. He has now gone to
his long home of peace and rest. He has lived a vir-
tuous, godly life, full of faith and hope. He came to
this place some few years ago and, since coming here,
his main business and calling has been to bear public
testimony to the world and vindicate the cross of
Christ and Mother at the public assemblies. In this
he has been true and faithful and has given satisfac-
tion in general to both Believers and unbelievers."

11 July Cornelia Vaughn and Josephine Shepperman ran away
after evening meeting-. They were soon followed and
foun/d at the tavern on the Troy Road about a mile
away and brought back.
12 July Jesse Harwood took Josephine and her sister, Carrie,
to their mother.
16 July Carrie Shepperman is brought back by her mother.
25 July Carrie and Augusta Shepperman are taken to Albany to
be indentured.
7 Aug Edward Hallam leaves for Newark NJ to {he says) visit
his daughter, 12-13 years old.
Have drawn sand to a place "between the wash house and
the ox yard" to raise a mound for a cistern to be
filled with soft water from the pond. . Now Geo. Price is
putting in a "wooden aqueduct of 3" bore" from the mill
pond to the new cistern. , /
12 Oct Visitors from Groveland include Justine Budine, Polly
Lee, Laura^Dole & Lavinia^butcher (& Henry Cantrell).
13 Oct (Sun) General Sheridan attended their public meeting.
After meeting he stopped at the Office for 30-40
minutes and many of brethren and sistrers came to see
him. "He was very friendly, pleasant and sociable."
23 Oct Louise^Fairchild died at NF. Her son, Marinus, an
outside lawyer, came to her funeral.
3 Dec -Magdalena Bradstreet, a young girl, has decided to
