20 Mar Hester/Gustinjof NF died.
6 Apr Stanton'^released from farm and stock and will take
c^harge of the canning business; Daniel^Sherman will
take over the management of the farm.
10 Apr John Palmer, Chas. Rockwell and Chas. McDonald leave
the children 's order and .move into the dwelling house.
15 Apr Edward Hallam has decided to leave.
5 June "The greatest quantity of turnip seed we have ever
known to be grown on the place .in one year is har-
vested here this season. The orchard west of the barn
nearly up to the 2d Family line is one continuous
field of turnip seed."
17 June MoriahvTreadway drowned herself in the pond. Coroner "s
verdict - drowned "in a fit of insanity."
3 Aug A young sister at Mt. Lebanon, Ellen Calver, drowned
herself lately and now her body has been dug up through
the influence of their "jealous, suspicious and envious
neighbors" and a post morten examination of the body
has taken place.
1 Oct Philip Smith has left herb business and gone into the
garden shop to help- Chas. Brackett takes full charge
of herbs; Stanton takes on care of p^oultry.
