a new method of canning corn by steam power.
13 Mar Willie"/Gould (about 4 years) goes to CF to live from NF; his father is

Benjamin Starbuck's funeral - " a very friendly man to Believers and a

12 April We understand the Gould family of SF is moved to Troy. The family consists
of Samuel, "his wife (who is causing the outbreak)" and two small children.
29 Apr Covenant male members meet to consider whether to continue the law case
concerning Bristol Cabbage seed or drop it ancmay $6000 fine. It was the
general impression to drop it.
25 May 2-3 young men from Albany were shooting around the Shaker pond. The gun
ofbne burst and broke his wrist so only skin and cords held it. C. Miller,
our physician, gave what aid he could buift "it will have to be amputated."

25 Sept C. Copley went to Albany with Henry George and, in getting out of the wagon,
he stumbled and fell, breaking his leg near his thigh. Dr. Wade came and
set it.
