8 Jan. Morrel Baker and C. Copley returned from their long sled journey to
the north country.
9 Mar. Came to Watervliet In sleigh, snow deep and "very difficult turning
out when we meet other teams." In A l b a n y
streets, 3-4 ft. deep.
10 Mar. Alvira Brown died of influenza in the evening.
12 Mar. Alvira's funeral.
15 Mar. "Bro. Rufus went to 2d Order to speak to the elders concerning the
move of Bro. Freegift, Fred. Wicker, Chauncey Copley and Jesse Harwood,
that it was concluded for the change to be made this afternoon, i.e.,
for Freegift to move his things to a room in the Office where he will
remain until he starts faor Ohio; Frederic Wicker to take his place
in the Elders; for C. Copley to take Frederic's place in the Office;
and for Jesse to come from the 2d Order and be a Family Deacon in the
1st Order instead of the 2d Order.
21 Mar. "The roan horses changed for young bays called Prince and Honest Dick."
27 Mar. Bro. Rufus went to 2d Order and attender their a.m. meeting and visited
Bro. Aaron Wood "who appears to be near his disolution."
29 Mar. Aaron died, aged 80 yr 11 mon. 14 days.
30 Mar. Aaron's funeral at 9 a.m.
1 April "I went to the South Family with Polly Vedder; we walked on the crust,
snow about 2 ft. deep."
5 Apr. Sylvester Prentis and George Parks came from South Family to live at
1st Order.
8 Apr. south Family horses stolen.
10 Apr. Bro. Freegift read his farewell address In 1st Order a.m. meeting.
"Many brethren and sisters expressed their thanks and gratitude for his
faithful labors with tears, and it was an affecting scene."
"We sang 3 farewell songs which were composed on the occasion and also
some others."
Just after the close of the meeting Patience Chase died, aged 82 yrs.
on last July 12. Towards evening we heard that Asa Seaton found the
South Family horses about 60 miles west.
12 Apr. Freegift and Eld. Matthew leave for Ohio.
15 Apr, Betty Lane died at 7 p.m.
16 Apr. Enfield brethren came for a planing machine which had been made for
them,
(some time in here the Ministry went back to New Lebanon)
23 Apr. Proposed to Elder Samuel Turner (of Pleasant H i l l ,who was visiting)
that he come to live at New Lebanon.
2 July Started for Watervliet a little before 4 a.m., arrived at 1:30 p.m,.
7 July Sarah Fairchild brought home from New Lebanon where she had been for
her health "a long season."
25 July General turnout to raise 2d Order 3-story house, took dinner and
supper there.
1 Aug. This forenoon we invited Bro. Abner to take a walk to Mother's Spring.
