29 Aug. Albert Twiss came from Watervliet, partly to inform us that "poor
little Theodore Bates had gone abroad in a pet, Pitman like, and they
knew not where."

Sixby came from Watervliet on a visit.
13 Sept. Jesse Wells, James Watkins and Rebecka Carter came to accompany Sister
Tina Seaton, lately from Sodus.
4 Oct. Came to Watervliet, roads rough and muddy.
7 Oct. Brethren and sIsters"greatIy engaged in gathering a store of apples
for the fall and winter."
Sun., 9 The children and some of the youth of the Society have been sick with
the measles for the past 8-9 weeks.
14 Oct. The old Garden Shop, used as a dry house, burned and only by great
exertion prevented from burning a large amount of apples.
17 Oct. Two of Theodore Bates Jr., children came to 1st Order to live - Mary
Ann, aged 13, and Osea, aged 11.
18 Oct. E l d . Ebenezer, Bro. Rufus and I picked up apples nearly all day.
We finished the orchards belonging to the 1st Order.
5 Nov. Eld. B.S. Youngs and James Farney returned from South Union, Eld.
Benjamin put up at Office and James at south Family, his former residence.
10 Nov. Returned from Watervliet. Brought with us two little girls, Erne I i n e
Wilkinson, about 5, and Loiza Spencer, almost 4.
