JOURNAL OF PASSING EVENTS, by Rufus Bishop

Bishop was one of the Central Ministry at New Lebanon with
Ebenezer , Eldress Asenath & Ruth . As such
they visited Watervliet several times a year, staying a week or
more each time. Notations below, unless otherwise indicated/
were made when they were at Watervliet.

13 Feb Elder Brother Joseph leaves, David Miller takes over;
Elder Sister Sarah resigns, R. Spencer takes over;
Polly Vedder Eldress.
14 Feb Sabbath. 3 below zero, 115 spectators' sleighs.
18 Apr Ha^ifen Treadway at office "waiting for his father to

21 Apr Reuben Treadway goes to NF to see if Almira will go
with him.
11 June The Ministry is at Alfred, Me. and "attend difficult
labors."
12 June "Find people in a sad state" (at Alfred)
14 June "Think best to release Eldress Lucy and Judith."
15 June "Continue struggling and gain but little."
16 June "Visit here and there and labour to gather and compose
the feelings of the people."
