He has been in the settlement 2-3 days and this morning
Justice took him to Albany. He wants to get money
Sufficient to pay his passage to France where he thinks
he has friends."

21 Sept (NL) Horace Holloway called at our office this morning.
He left Sodus last week again in a state of mental de-
rangement, from which he is not yet exempt and that we
believe is about all the fault they find with him. He
manifests sure faith in the testimony and a desire to
find forgiveness 'and charity. Poor creature!"
23 Sept Horace appeared more deranged, the poormaster was asked
to take care of him. However Horace agreed to return
to Great Harrington where he had been working and he
left.
17 Oct Two of "Theodore Bates Jr. children came to live at CF--
Mary Ann, 13 and Ann, 11.
28 Oct Railroad surveyors ran a line a few rods south of the
NF new shop in an east-west direction, then from that
line near the north barn southerly thru the CF orchard.
31 Oct Horse ill, dosed him with gin, mollasses & spirits of
turpentine, exercised him briskly, which seemed to have
