A constable with Asa Seaton & 2 other brethren went to
Barney Reynolds' home with a search warrant for the
stolen goods. He denied it but, when they were going
To search the barn, he admitted taking the watch but
not the other things. But when he pulled the watch out
of the haymow, some hay fell and so did the feather
bed. The buffalo skin was found under a log in the
woods. On the way to Albany, Barney escaped but was
recaptured at evening by the constable and taken to the
SF to spend the night. (He apparently was a
