21 Jan ^Two loads of world's people from Black River country
visiting at WF, relatives of Paulina Bates & Jonathan
Cole.
23 Jan VOrin Bates & his wife confessed their sins & "gave
Paulina one of their daughters, about 12 years old."
25 Jan Ministry returned to Lebanon; large group went with
them & at a tavern "by the glass works" they were met
by a large group from Lebanon,[total 20] "by direction
of the Eternal Father." Sang & received messages for
about 2 *2 hours.
22 Feb v'Orin Bates, his wife & 3 daughters and 4 others came
from Jefferson County.
3 Mar CF is keeping a "fast" of 40 days from songs of praise
& rejoicing so have readings during their meetings.
9 Mar Thru a spirit message, fast days were remitted so they
could "exercise in the solemn march Saturday evening
and one on the Sabbath."
8 Apr Elizabeth Lovegrove died. ^C^~^^f^\
3 July i/Fhe Bates are living "in the red house by the mill."
8 July Chauncey Copley, Clarissa Vedder went with Elizabeth
Seely to see about some property Elizabeth had inheri-
ted at New Canaan, Conn. Back 14th.
16 July ^Ider Calvin Wells asked to be released, having been
elder at SF for 33 years, & Issachar Bates will succeed
with Richard Dean as Elder Brother.
19 Aug Freegift to Lebanon "to find what unions and company
in taking pension money."
13 Oct All of Society over 15 years of age --226 Believers.

30 Feb >^aleb Bates & a large number of people from Jefferson
County visit at CF. "The Bates, Trains & Harwoods are
related to them."
24 May i/Rufus cut a broadcloth coat & vest for Chauncey Copley.
1 June CF & NF met with WF at Father Joseph's Fountain "where
we had a most precious meeting. Considerable speaking
by inspiration & otherwise. Was much reading conern-
ing the origin of that fountain...We also sung HARMONY
OF ANGELS & many other good songs & marched a number of
songs in a double circle. But our happiness was some
eclipsed by spectators of the world, mostly hunters or
Sabbath breakers. We started from home at 9 a.m.,
returned at noon."
