deaconess, *l3arah Beal to be Eldress.
28 May Brethren of each family come to raise CF great barn.

27 July (Sun) world's people filled all the rising seats &
between passageways, 3 tiers of movable seats & some of
Believers' seats on east & west sides & "they behaved
with becoming decency."

Was not boarded & the wind & rain came with such force
from the NW that it lifted 20 rafters from the plate &

9 Aug Rufus has made 4 vests for the CF (He is 77 years old.)

Bates and spent most of the afternoon with him and the
Elders.

27 Sept (NL) Two "noted" male mediums, Henry Gordon & Horace
Cooley, from Springfield came for a few days. Had
trances, rappings, writing in Chinese characters, mov-
ing tables, etc.
1 Oct (NL) Took mediums to Hancock after giving them $10 cash
& $5 in presents.

helped gather apples. Took dinner on the Island.
19 Oct Lydia Annas' mother, Lucy, & cousin visited at the
Office. On 22nd they were taken to railroad in Schdy
to go to their home in Cazenovia.
16 Oct (Sun)Brethren closed the gates & put up a sign that there
would be no public meeting but many of the world came &
strolled about in our streets & peeped in many of our
windows like creatures that knew nothing about good
