20 Nov Chaincey Copley went to see NL Ministry "about some
land in Illinois that fell into his hands 2-3 years ago
It was chiefly prairie land and he felt it was neces-
sary to go & see what condition it was in & conclude
what wo^uld be the best thing to do with it." He also
wanted to stop in Michigan about a pine timber lot that
he thought perhaps to buy. Ministry agreed for him &
Chauncey Miller to go.
22 Nov Eld Richard went to NYCity to buy a 320 acre pine tim-
ber lot in Michigan owned by a company in NYC.
12 Dec * Oliver Train died at Lebanon Hollow. "He was a turnoff
& had many crazy turns since he went away & some before
but never was known to say anything against Believers.
In one of his crazy turns, he exclaimed, with many
oaths, that the floor would give away & they would all
go down to hell together & the stove on top." After
his funeral, any of those present who wanted to see the
corpse were invited to step into the other room. About
30 gathered around the coffin, mostly women, & the
floor gave way & down into the cellar they went with
thwe stove & the coffin which burst open, partly spill-
ing the corpse. Several were badly hurt.

I Feb. Chauncey Miller brought the stove from Albany - price
$8. George Price made the stovepipe & it was put up.
4 Feb Bro Daniel 5 Elder Amos went to NF to have a conversa-
tion with Gordon Horton who "was laboring under some
unprofitable feelings."
II Feb Chauncey Copley, Channing Prentiss & Daniel Sherman
returned from their Black River seed route. Had been
gone over 4 weeks. Profitable trip.
14 Feb Eldress Asenaths Sister Betsy went to NF to see the
Elder Sister. "After considerable laboring they came
to the conclusion it would be best to make some changes
which was to ha^ Phebe Ann Smith change with Angeline


The New Lebanon Ministry now is: Amos Stewart, Elder; Daniel
Boler, Elder Brother; Asenath Clark, Eldress, Betsy Bates, Elder
Sister.
