16 Feb Eld Issachar of SF came to Ministry shop and "requested
some help in the line of deacons as Alexander had to be
out among the world so much of the time they felt con-
cerned about him & petitioned for Asa Seaton to go to
the SF to live and take the 1st charge in the deacons
business." So Elder Amos went to the WF & spoke to the
elders and got their approval.
21 Feb ^Asa made the move from WF to SF and Elsie Reamer went
from SF to WF.
19 Mar Severe wind storm took tops of two of dwelling house
chimneys, west side of roof of new machine shop was
carried over the cheese house & lodged against the
timber shed & the east side of the roof fell & rested
on the garret floor. Considerable tin from the roofs
including a large portion on the east side of the new
barn.
20 Apr ^Cyrus Bates of NF broke both bones in his leg trying
to jump onto a colt.
23 Apr SF elders tell Ministry that Orin Bates has concluded
to go to Black River country "to establish a community
on more liberal terms than the Shakers will allow. A
man named Reed who has lived at the SF a short time has
concluded to go with him with his wife & 4 children."
28 Apr Meeting at the SF Office of elders & deacons of Society
& it was decided to paint the Meeting House, tin the
roofs of the backhouses & shingle the large shed roof
with pine shingles.
30 Apr (Sun) A young man who had been at the SF 10-12 days was
