12-14 towelsl, table cutlery, etc. "Suspicion rests
hard on some noted thieves that live on the river 3-4
miles below at a place called Crystal City. Search
warrants have been issued and their possessions
searched but not much could be found that could be
identified."

5 May At WF "Elder Jesse Wells, now 80, had spoken a number of
times about being released and now the Ministry appoint
Brother.
8 May "The WF elders have made a request to us for some
assistance to attend the public meeting; their strength
for song is quite weak & this is a matter that has
brought a heavy burden & made considerable labor with
us. After much labor & conversation with the elders,
especially those in the CF, we have come to the follow-
ing conclusion: for the CF to go one Sabbath & NF the
next thru the season; t^he WF to keep the lead of the
meeting; for 3 of the CF singers to stand in the first
rank & 3 right behind them in the second rank; the CF
elders to head the third rank & the office deacons to
stand at the foot of the third rank; the CF singers
are to make out a class of singers to sing for labor-
ing; the NF are to help the family to sing." Elder

them of this plan.
9 May FSWicker went to Lebanon to assist the sisters in cut-
ting "frocks, etc."
II May Talked to FSWicker about taking C. Miller's place as
physician and he seemed willing.
Had singing meeting in evening. "The elders seemed
anxious to have the singers learn to sing more like
Lebanon people."
