Ministry go to SF to speak to elders about "giving up" Thomas Beal
to go to NF as foreman on the farm.
31 Dec Go to NF and speak to Sylvester Prentiss about moving back to CF to
take Jesse Harwood's place as Family Deacon.
At the CF there are 209 people, 95 males, 115 females. In the 1st
Order there are 129 in all, 58 males, 71 females; in 2d Order there
are 80 in all, 36 males, 44 females.
Joining in 1859 were George B. Morrow, E. Franklin Morrow, Simon D
Clinton, Letitia Brown & Elizabeth Garvey.
Deceased were Dudley Barret, Sarah Hawkins, Jane Smith, & Cynthia
Hamblin.
Leaving were Sarah Ann Page, John Kimbell, Aaron Slingerland, Benjamin
Roe, Eliza Ann Lester & LawrenceSariner.

5 Jan Ministry returned to Lebanon.
18 Feb Ministry come to W "on the cars".
19 Feb (Sun) Attended meeting with 1st Order. "Found need of a very powerful
testimony against the flesh."

20-22 Saw the elders of NF, WF & SF about John Atwood, who is a middle-aged
man who joined:at Union Village, Ohio, went from there to North Union
where he stayed about 11 months, and is now at WV, "solicits charity."

24 Feb Justice Harwood to Ministry shop in relation to the return of Oliver
Prentiss among Believers. "A very short story, soon told."
25 Feb Eld Bro C. Copley to the Ministry Shop "about Philip Smithes business."
26 Feb "Attended meeting with 1st Order. Strove to awak^en the testimony
in the assembly against the flesh & a disorderly union between brethren
& sisters. Meeting dull, a great lack here of spiritual life & zeal."
27 Feb Richard Dean of SF came to Ministry about Galen Richmond" a young
Believer living out, whose wife is now 'enciente' by another man; poor
Galen is "in much trouble, is implicated but known to be innocent.
She is a bad woman & inimical to the Shakers."
Troubles at W about Maynard Treadway and Lucy Bates, both in a way
for the lower kingdom.

29 Feb Maynard Treadway & Lucy Bates carried to the world.
Jeremiah Lowe fell from an apple tree & badly hurt his hip.
1 March Ministry confer with elders about "the arrangement of business among
gardeners, farmers, herdsmen, etc. Also about foreman on the farm.
2 March Ministry confer with CF elders rabout how many horses to keep in the
family & by whom cared for & driven.

3 March James Finch, a physician at SF, came to Ministry & asked to move to
WF or NF.
