12 Nov Ministry sisters to SF to see the Eldresses "who do not get along very
comfortably I believe."
16 Nov Elder Daniel "bottoming chairs, Giles making a box under the stairway
in the cellar of the Ministry Shop.1
Receive $100 from Groveland, $360 from South Union for Gloucester.
24 Nov Having "general ope^hing,,/or yearly sacrifice", so went to NF & spend
morning with the elders "in labors with their order. Some very plain
communications between Br. Chauncey Dibble and the rest of the order,
especially Sisters."
5 Dec Jerusha Smith escorted back to Lebanon, after having been at the WF
over a year, helping the sisters in the office.
6 Dec Elder Daniel & Giles have been at the mill "getting out stuff for seed
boxes" and now at Ministry Shop, they put together about 10-12.
7 Three or four of WF boys have run away. Edward Powers no longer feels
able to take charge of the boys so propose to appoint James Maloon.
Elder Daniel & Giles make 60 seed boxes today.
8 Dec Go to WF & "make some labors" with Win. Bussell & Win. Warrencliff, strive
to reform them some in some notions of theirs at present; speak to
Bussell about moving to CF & he is willing; speak to Maloon about taking
the boys, he is reluctant but consents to try as there are only 4 boys
left.''
9 Dec AT SF Moriah leaves Eldress after rabout one year's residence at SF &
moves back to CF again; Paulina Bates takes Eldress & Mary Ann Ayers is
appointed to live with her; Irena Bates to be 1st deaconess.
15 Dec Ministry return to New Lebanon.

4 Jan (Fri) Appointed ag1 Thanksgiving Day by President of U.S. At Lebanon, have
society meeting, over 500 Believer s}5 at Meeting House. ''When not exer-
cising, placed in a hollow square--CF brethren on west, family brethren
on south, CF sisters on north, family sisters on east. The inside
ranks contained 6 persons each, outside 22 persons each. When exercis-
ing in the step manner, the singers were placed in a square in the
centner, 6 on the two sides & ^ on the other 2 sides & the whole body,
all the wings, moved back & forth to the time and, when they approached
& receded, the effect & appearance was subblime beyond description. In
the march, 5 'persons moved abreast in the outside ranks &3 abreast in
the inside ranks & the circle waas completely filled both within &
without." The meeting began at 10 a.m. & continued to 2:15 p.m.

4 Feb Ministry come to WF. "Had a 'douche1 bath crossing the creek on Lebanon
Flats between Tilden's Extract Lab & Patterson Hill, but no one injured."
