7 Feb Ministry sisters both ill. Elder Daniel & Giles go to WF to talk
; to elders to "look to the young people of their family, also to talk
with the young people who remain in the family, there having some

12 Feb Eld Bro of WF proposes that ^Edward Powers take care of the boys again;
says he has offered."^-Ministry think "it is the best the family can
do under the circumstances."
13 Feb C. Miller returns from seed route; been gone about 6 weeks.
17 Feb Lucy Fairchild, Eld Sis at NF, to move back to CF. Eliza Wells asked
to go to take her place. "I believe she consents to pull up stakes and
go, tho it really is a sound cross for her."
Eld Bro Joel from WF *to tell of a couple of youths they sent away today
& one yesterday, making in all 11 young people who have left that family
this winter."
24 Go to NF. Laura Prentiss also released & comes back to CF and Aurelia
White takes her place.
NF signed their new covenant today.
8 March Ministry "labors with the leading authorities at CF relative to teams,
particularly the number to be kept. Appoint 1 horse to the family
deacons, 1 to the herdsman, 2 to the home farm, 2 to the river farm, 4
at the Office, & 2 in the garden. Some of deacons think this too many.
Some of the brethren think it too few."
9 March Ministry go to WF "to labor with some young brethren, so called.'
10 March Elder Daniel & Giles go to SF to attend meeting & "strive to wake up
(Sun) a gift of conviction for sin among the people,"
11 Narch Hold meeting in evening with Elders of Deacons of CF Vrelative to the
abundant use of beef tallow for shortening, also the use of meat 3
times a day."
12 March Giles returns to Lebanon by road, rest by railroad.
6 May Ministry come to W.
7 May Meet Loviha Salsbury of Leb NF & Phebe Ann Jones of Leb 2d Fam, who
have come to WV to assist at SF.this season.

9 May Giles helps DAB pack two large boxes with 2400 Austin Seedling straw-
berry plants to be shipped to New Gloucester & Poland, Me.
Eliza Ask died, having "abstained entirely from food of every kind for
20 days past & suffered a consumpption of the blood for many years,
causing her to wear the appearance of a walking ghost."

14 May Ministry left for Groveland. Emory Brooks comes out, Joseph Pelham
in, Daniel Dryer out, Peter Long in. Chauncey Sears to live with Elder
Joseph. (Chauncey & Peter are from Lebanon & accompanied the Ministry
to Groveland.)
