But, in condecension to our feelings , they suggest that ,
when drafted, Shakers make affidavit to the Provost Marshall
of their religious scruptfles about military servitude and,
on the presentation of the same to the Secretary of War, he
will order the Provost Marshall to levy on the Shaker pro-
perty the amount due to rans-am/those drafted. " This will
