24 Feb Henry Bussell, about 18, son of William, went to the world
the second time. "Good riddance."
Stepeh Wells of WF died, 89 years. "Has been a Trustee of
WF & kept the office books for the past 50 years."
27 Feb John Decker to go to WF as Trustee, "but he cannot go
immediately on account of the state of the seed business
in the CF."
29 Feb WF Eldresses come to see Ministry. "There appears to be a
great want of gift & ability in that order at present, &
changes are manifestly important to be made there."

1 Mar Elder Daniel "pounding basket stuff"; Giles at the mill,
sawing poplar for boxes.
5 Mar AT WF appoint Rebecca Carter, 76 years old, as Eldress in
place of Eleanor Vedder, and Alvira Conklin as Elder Sister
in place of Almira Watkins. Eleanor to go to Office with
Nancy Wicks, Emeline Clark & Ellen are to be family
deaconesses & Hester Crannell is to take Ellen 1 s plac e in
the infirmary.
Augustus Blaze is confined with acute rheumatism. James
Watkins died, of fever & cold.
9 Mar Abraham Hendrickson "an aged physician of the WV CF, but
who lived many years at New Lebanon & Canaan & was the
leading elder in Canaan for many years, died after a pro-
tracted illness of some twogi months & some of the most awful
sores on the back of the neck & shoulders that ever was on
a human being."
12 Mar Ministry return to NL.
18 Mar Ministry write to Watervliet NF about "their management of
financial affairs, the propriety of sisters holding some
moneys in their hands, etc."
28 Mar Alexander Youngs of WF goes to see Ministry about "some
help in the office business."
6 Apr Nehemiah White goes to NL & with Giles goes to Alonzo
Bradley's in Lee "to purchase five swarms of Italian bees
for $54."
5 May Ministry come to WV.
10 May Giles making hiaves for queen rearing.
13 May Giles drives a swarm of bees, takes away its queen & gives
it an Italian queen in order that the colony may rear
queen cells."
