1 Feb Elder Daniel & George Price go to Schenectady to get some
castings for a machine for rolling & breaking basket stuff,
a substitute for pounding.
4 Feb (Sun) "An arrangement made to have the several families meet
on Sabbath mornings & more thoroughly learn the songs to
be sung at the public meetings the coming season."
5 Feb The schoolteachers go to a Teachers' Institute at Van
Vranken Corners today.
6 Feb Now it is arranged to have the society singing meeting held
one Sabbath in each family.
8 Charles Brackett to take shoemaking business as Albert Twiss
has failed, and Wm. Bussell to take herb dept. in Charles'

14 Feb Elder Daniel making his new rolling machine for basket stuff.
15 Feb Elder Daniel & Chauncey Copley go to Albany to get a young
woman from New Hampshire named Catharine Bickford (alias
Flora). She lived for some years at Alfred North Family
& was taken away by her father. Now to have a privilege
at Wvlt NF.
22 Feb New railroad bridge across the Hudson at Albany opened today.
1 March Ministry returned to Lebanon.
12 Mar NL Elder Fred. Evans & John Greaves go to Caroga., Fulton Co.,
to look at some timber land they recently bought.
19 Mar Chauncey Miller goes to Lebanon with a man from Cincinnati
named J. W. SeUtofl who owns much land and wishes to sell
30,000 acres in Kentucky on the Licking River about 80 miles
airline from Cincinnati. Ministry, elders, etc. meet and
agree for WV CF"to lay out a few thousand dollars if, on
examination., every condition of the lands appears to justify
such an investment and the Brethren feel union therewith."
