19 Jan Ministry return to Lebanon.

25 Jan (NL) Giles preparing matter for the first Shaker paper,
writing some, arranging others; also writing a circular (to
be printed) to Believers advertising it.

26 (NL) Albert Lomas has come to help Giles prepare material
for paper.

4 Feb (NL) Eld Chauncey Sears of Groveland comes at Ministry's
request and they spend the next couple of days "in close
labors." He.goes home on 7th.

I Mar Ministry go to Groveland. Arrive on 2d. "Learn that there
will probably be an entire breaking up of the West family
of Groveland, both leaders and people"

3 Mar (Grove) "Learn that all but 3" of the older Believers of West
Family, both lead & people, conclude to leave the Society
as they can reasonably get ready; this is more than we had
really expected or are prepared for."

4 Mar (Grove) Elder Amos Parkhurst of Union Village arrives to see
the Ministry about troubles at Union Village about a divi-
sion of lands between the two Church families & the gathering
order.

6 Mar (Grove) Go to WF to see Polly A. ..Smith & Augustus Stone &
others "relative to their purposes concerning leaving Soci-
ety or separating themselves from Believers. They both con-
clude to do so, we make preparations for that event."

7 Mar (Grove) Giles goes to WF , settles off with Polly A. Smith
(who leaves today) and Augustus Stone.

9 Mar (Grove) Settle with Olive Swingle & her three grown-up
daughters and some four others who are preparing to leave WF.

10 Mar Elder Daniel & Eld Ann Taylor go to Lebanon to get some
assistance for Groveland to sustain a:family at WF.

II Mar (Grove) Hannah Greening, one of WF eldresses, went to the
world today.
12 Mar (Grove) Giles Eldress Polly go to WF & lead a meeting "in
Sun the slow march with 4 sisters, 2 women, 2 men & 4 boys &
doing our own singing."

13 Mar Eld Chauncey Sears gets some circulars printed for an auction
to be held at Gamel farm at Mt. Morris to sell off farm
tools, stock, etc. used on an out farm.

15 Mar (Grove) East Family go to WF to help clean house. Caroline
Austin and Eleanor DeGraw of East Family go to the world.
22 Mar Giles has 40 hogs, shoats, etc. taken to Gamel Farm for
Auction. Also 20 barrels of vinegar. Sell 10 heifers.
