24 Mar (Grove) Giles receives letter from Elder Daniel that he Eldress Ann have arranged at Lebanon for Elder Calvin Reed
& Bro James Goodwin, plus Eldress Abigail Grossman, Louisa
Youngs of CF and Elizabeth Button & Sarah Cutler of NF to
come to Groveland in a few days. Arrive on 28th.

26 (Sun) (Grove) Giles & Eldress Polly at WF trying to keep things
straight. Chauncey Sears "is here yet, tho intending to
leave the family." [apparently only for business purposes]

29 Mar (Grove) New arrivals spend day locating furniture, looking
around the premises to find where things are.
Elder Daniel & sisters go to East Family at night, but
Giles stays at WF day & night.
14 Apr Ministry finally conclude their work at Groveland. Have
been sowing hot beds, sisters setting up a loom to weave
hall carpets, planning planting of fields, making fences,
etc. etc. Now come to WV.
15 Apr Arrive at WV and find that Bro Freegift died last night.
16 (Sun) No meeting as Bro Charles Brackett has to make the coffin
& cannot attend. But did have evening prayer meeting.
25 Apr Eld Augustus Blase of WF comes to Ministry Shop a bout
removing Aaron Sonburgh"from the care of the farm as it
appears to be too much for his brain to carry."
26-7 Ministry working with Albert Lomas about material for next
issue of "The Shaker."
28 Apr Apportion subscription to paper among WV families: CF 170
copies; WF 130; NF 100, and SF 200.
29 Apr Giles & Eld Daniel go with C. Miller & Daniel Sherman to
"south portions of home farm where they have been making
great .improvements in draining, stumping, grubbing etc.;
also have sowed about 100 acres of wW&t & oats, mostly
wheat, both winter & spring. Chauncey has a project of
making aldam to flow the meadow. We do not think very fav-
orably of the project."
30 Apr Go to NF and release Elder Sylvester, succeeded by Nathaniel
Fry, with Chauncey Dibble to live with him.
3 May Ministry return to Lebanon "after a most severe trial of
all our gospel feelings--by false brethren & false sisters
at Groveland."
7 May (NL) Chauncey Sears, "formerly of Groveland,comes & then
goes on to Canaan to see his parents. Thence onward out."
22 May Hear of fire at Groveland East Family--17 buildings burned.
3 June (NL) Ministry gives permission for Fred Evans to go to
England with the spiritualist, J. M. Peebles.
