20 June Elder Daniel making a bleaching house west of the washhouse.

28 June Albert Loinas goes to Lebanon with some letters for Fred
Evans from Senator Ira Harris, introductions to Harris's
friends in England.

7 July Elder Daniel & George Price now busy "raising up the walk
across the road by the meeting house", Giles making seed
boxes & attending to his bees. Then they raised the stone
steps of the meeting house porch.

18 July Ministry return to Lebanon.

20 July (NL) Find East Family "swamped in debt", men are suing for
debts; NF "in propserous circumstances generally; Lower
Canaan considerably in debt-to NF; Upper Canaan free from
debt."

1 Aug (NL) Find debts of East Family, under Edward Chase, to
amount to $20,000 or more. Giles spends a couple of weeks
living at East Family, overseeing things.
7 Sept (NL) Alfred Ministry visiting. "The subject of the removal
of societies in Maine is much discussed. They are not able
to sell out yet, except their timber land, some 5-6 miles
distant, which is contracted for sale at $28,000."
13 Sept Ministry come to WV. "No very great or stirring events in
society here now. Much spiritual dearth and weakness."

26 Sept Elder Daniel & Ministry sisters return to Lebanon, Giles
busy helping cut off sweet corn.
27 Sept Letter from Alfred Ministry; the sisters both almost killed
by accidentally drinking stramonium tea, given by mistake
for motherwort.
28 Sept Ministry return from Lebanon and bring E liza Ann Haynes, who
was taken from WV about 10 years ago.
1 Oct (Sun) After society singing meeting in afternoon, meet with
Elders & Trustees "to try to make some arrangement about
seed business."
4 Oct Elder Daniel & Giles take down a loom, box it, send it to
Groveland.
