4 May Ministry speak to Albert Lomas about moving to NF to take
Chauncey Dibble ' s place & Ghauncey moving to SF to live
with Elder Galen Richmond, and to Galen to become Elder.
6 May Moves take place today, with Albert Lomas going to NF to
live with Elder Nathaniel Fry, "but he refuses to take
any part as an Elder."
7 May Chauncey Miller comes to Ministry Shop and "makes propo-
sitions relative to the Trusteeship, settling up with the
hired men up-to-date, paying t^he cabbage seed lawsuit,
then to keep the farm through the year., raise what is wanted
upon it, etc." Gardeners set out onions.
10 May Gardeners set out beets & parsnips, plow to sow onions .
20 May Giles finishes making a secretary and oils with red oil,
then varnishes. It goes into Eldresses room.
26 May Ministry return to Lebanon. People from Hudson present
Lebanon with a fire engine.
4 June (NL) Beginning building new dwelling. Have 47 hired hands --
20 masons, 4 mortarmakers , 4 hod carriers, 4 brick carriers ,
2 stone carriers , 2 jobbers, 3 teams & teamsters, 4 carpen-
ters, 2 stone cutters, 2 extra helphands . Giles oversees
hired hands .
7 July Giles goes to Union Village. In Cleveland (North Union)
he hears "the pitiful story of the probable suicide of Bro .
David Sumner of ;the Mill Family. No brethren now left in
Mill Family except one young Believer and one ignoramus."

13 Aug Giles making personal labors in SF & CF.
14 Aug Giles spends the day in labors with young people in SF & CF.
16 Aug (Mon) Giles still engaged in labors with some individuals , in
SF mostly.
17 Aug Giles returns to Lebanon. Gone 6 weeks . Finds walls of
dwelling house are up, slaters work on T.
29 Aug(SLn)(NL) Have their first public meeting, probably 1000 people.
14 Sept (NL) Hear of fire at Groveland on Sept 3d, of their flour
mill, $27, 000 according to Amos Stewart .
