9 May School starts, Mary Nelson teacher, assisted by Mary Call.

10 May Henry George and Lewis Funk finally move to CF. Henry is
to drive the Office team, instead of C. Copley. Lewis is
to be in care of the little boys and brings two boys with
him.
13 May Ministry sisters go to SF and arrange for Joanne Myers &
her daughter, Elliette to move to CF to live.

14 May Elder Daniel & Giles go to NF & appoint Burdett Hanks as
Family Deacon. "Have a conflicting labor with Albert &
George Price."
15 May See C. Miller about status of lands in Illinois.
16 May Ministry return to Lebanon. "General health & a common state
of spiritual prosperity; numbers, on male side, very few;
trials great; burdens financially heavy^; great complaint
of indifference to money making."
23 May (NL) "Sisters and a large number of brethren & boys putting
up Dr. White's medicines at 2d Order, This is the most
important sale business in these days, that is making the
extracts & putting up the medicines."
24- (NL) Giles ill in infirmary [sounds

13 June (NL) Carl King, a German who lived at NF for over 20 years-
and at 2d Family for past 2 years, set fire to 2d Family
seed shop & woodhouse while the family was at b reakfast.
He is taken to NYC on the 14th by C linton Brainard, to
send him to Germany "as he is said to be insane, and this
is to avoid sending him to state prison."
10 July (Shirley ) North Family has 4 men, 6 women. Elder Daniel
Frazer wants to go home to Lebanon.
2 Aug Ministry come to Wvlt.
4 Aug Elders of WF and Sf visit. "All appear usually hopeful and
comfortable."
7 Aug Elder Daniel & Giles go to SF to see Theodore Wicks, spend
most of a.m. with him & Elders.
8 Aug Elder Lydia, Mary Nelson & Joanna go with Giles to Rosendale
to Van Vranken's to see about some bees.
9 Aug Giles fixes the pipes bringinto, water to cistern^ of Ministry
Shop.
10 Aug In p.m. Ministry go to school with Elders & several brethren
& sisters. "The school is very excellent indeed."
11 Aug C. Miller "manifests much tr^ial with Ministry brethren on
