& "arrange that Order; some trials among Sisters."

13 Feb Giles goes to Albany to get Ministry clocks that have been
to clock maker for repairs.
14 Feb Giles goes to SF to examine their clothes drying apparatus,

17 Feb Giles goes to NYC to see Nelson Nichols of Brooklyn &
Nelly Martin, "YMCA, possible converts.
19 Feb Giles goes with Nelson Nichols to Henry Ward .Beecher's
church to hear Geo. Pentecost.
20 Feb Giles goes to NY Stock Exchange, to Dr. A.J. White's store,
to Wilford Hall's office, to Nelly Martin's house.
21 -Feb Giles goes to see R.R.Raymond, agent for renting or loaning
the lecture hall of Cooper Institute.
22 Feb Giles returns to Wvlt.
23 Feb Giles writing an article "Sketches of Shakers & Shakerism"
for THE LITERARY MISCROCOSM of New York.
27 Feb Giles drafts a drying kiln for clothes for SF, makes out a
bill for lumber, piping, etc. for it.
4 Mar Elder Daniel goes to NF "to settle some difficulties there
between brethren'; Giles at SF working on drying kiln.
5 Mar At WF, release Paulina Bates from Eldress, appoint Alvira
Conklin, with Rachel McDonald as Elder Sister.
14 Mar Eldress Harriet dressmaking at SF; Giles still working at
setting up steam drying kiln. Finishes it on 17th.
