Henry George "& other burden bearers."

22 Mar Giles goes to NF to see George Price & Albert Lomas about
arrangement of business matters.

23-28 Elder Daniel works on baskets; Giles writing; Eld HaRRIET
goes to SF and helps.

29 Mar Ministry "have conference with Chauncey Miller concerning
the business left in his hands to settle. Not settled
yet! ! "
1 Apr(SJi) All the families come to Society meeting. Very many
good testimonies & resolutions expressed. "Afternoon,
a meeting of Ministry, elders & deacons on the subject
of school funds. Decided they should go to Trustees,
that it is as unconvenanted for a school teacher to keep,
selfishly, the funds for teaching as it would be to hire
out for washing, cooking, etc."

2 Apr Elder Daniel making baskets; Giles making a step ladder
for sisters in shirt shop to reach the shafting, etc.

8 Apr (Sun) "Afternoon, the trio Ministry all go to SF. Try to
arrange business between Bro Ozias Bogart & Henry George.
Appoint Ozias to live in Elders lot, with Elder Chauncey
Dibble. Ozias is tbocare for the garden."

10 Apr Go to Albany to make arrangements to reprint "Mother's
Sayings", which Giles has revised, and Elder Albert Battles
of Hancock has agreed to "'meet the expense of printing
1000 copies. Printer is Weed-,. Parsons & Co.

12 Apr Sawing lumber at new mill. CF finish setting tomato
plants in hot beds, 10,000. Elder Daniel making baskets;
Eld Harriet works at SF; Giles works at shirt machinery.

20 Apr Eld Daniel finishes 14 baskets made for cooking sweet corn.
25 Apr The trio Ministry return to NL.
May (NL) Benj. Gates went to Illinois & got 200 raccoon skins
and, with some others they acquired somewhere, Giles & Eld
Harriet work this month at getting the fur off the skins.
This is mixed with silk & spun to make gloves. Clean 300
skins in all, enough for 300 pairs of gloves.

19 June Ministry come -to Wvlt.
23 June Eld Harriet & Giles help clean Meeting House.
Giles cleans out apple cellar under old Meeting House,
"shamefully neglected."
